2.3.2 Booting the Installation System

 

Insert the boot floppy you just created into the floppy drive and reboot the machine. The system will use the image on the floppy to boot. You will first see the LILO: prompt. The first time through, just press . Watch the messages as the Linux kernel initializes your hardware. If it misses something or gets something wrong, you may need to enter some parameters at the LILO: prompt. If you do need to specify some parameters, please make note of them. They will be needed later.

After typing any required parameters press to begin the installation process. If all goes well you will be presented with a screen asking if you are using a color monitor (Figure 2.1 .) ``YES'' is the default, if you can't distinguish a cursor or highlight press once, and then to proceed. Next you will see the welcome dialog box, press to begin the installation.
