Hey, how come the GNOME Propect have not made much hype over the existence of
Eazel, the developers behind the next generation GNOME file manager... except
that they have some big people working on it. The current CVS log shows commits
by Andy Hertzfeld. Andy Hertzfeld was the father of the original Macintosh
toolbox, the foundation of the original Mac interface in 1984.
Now GNOME has one of the best GUI developers on earth among its ranks.

Until yesterday, Eazel did not even had a home page worth of name.
They've wanted things to be low key: if they want this to change,
I'm sure they'll let us know.

In any case, I never thought I'd see the day when Andy would be working
on top of the X Window System. From my point of view, this is greatly
gratifying: X has from its inception tried to be a system to enable good
GUI's to be built (rather than itself being a GUI: this distinguishes it
from most other window systems).

It has always been frustrating to me that such lame ones resulted (until
the better ones like gnome and kde). I'm sure Andy et. al. will be great
help to Gnome to become best in the world.

Actually, "the GNOME Project have" is quite acceptable because the
GNOME Project employs a multitude of people.

"The Who have created a new rock opera."
"The police have caught him."
"The GNOME Project have given him a new job."

At least that's what they taught me in school.

Because they asked us to keep their participation low-profile until
they were ready to launch their company.
